NCPA Midwest North #1
Planet Extreme - WI
We came into this tournament with virtually no practice since April. There were 19 teams in the tournament. The location was extremely convenient, and it went surprisingly smooth. There were huge breaks between each of our games which became annoying. But other than that we had no real problems with the way the tourney went. We played extremely well, especially considering our lack of practice. We went through the prelims with a record of 5 and 3. Which put us in 6th overall. Top 8 teams advanced to semis. We played U of Minnesota best 2 out of 3. They beat us the first game. Then we came back and "won" the second game. We eliminated all the players, but failed to bring the flag to the opponent's side within the 5 minute time limit. So we had to go to game 3, and in order for us to win, we would have had to beat Minnesota in less than 3 minutes and 2 seconds (that was how long the first game took). Unfortunately, we just completely lost the game in probably less than a minute. We all left feeling pretty satisfied though with 6th place.

NCPA National Championships
Central Florida Paintball - FL
We finally made it to Nationals. The planning for this trip was basically a disaster as far as planning for a Florida trip goes. 5 college guys trying to get to Florida for a weekend for a paintball tournament in the middle of a semester is, apparently, difficult. But we managed to pull it off. Mike and Andy flew there and back. Trevar, Erik L, Brent (Whitewater), and myself all drove in one car. We all arrived Friday night and crashed at our hotel. Woke up on time in the morning, and left on time. Got lost. We couldn't find the field and showed up maybe 15 minutes before our first game. We got ready as fast as possible and got all our paint from the pro shop (we went in with Whitewater to buy cases of All Star and Premium for a discount). We got on the field in time, and maxxed the first team we played. We ended up going 6 and 3 in the prelims on Saturday, which was good enough to take us to Sunday. Again, we showed up relatively late Sunday morning, and despite our best efforts we had an off day and lost 2 out of the 3 games games (barely) in the second round. We didn't move on and sat in 20th place for the event, but we stayed and watched our friends from Whitewater take first place.Link to Full Score Sheet

Midwest North #4
Stinger Paintball - WI
Possibly the last tournament we'll ever play at Stinger. We did surprisingly well at this event, at least in the first round. We went through the prelims with a record of 6 and 2. We made it to quarter finals and lost our first two games, but maxed our last game. This wasn't enough to move us on to the next round but we had a good time just like every Stinger event. We almost didn't have a full 5 man roster for this tourney, so we were pretty tentative the whole way up to the day. Luckily, we pulled Z in and made his greasy self get on the field. We ended up taking 6th place.Link to Full Score Sheet

MWN Event #3
Air Assault - MN
This tournament was possibly one of the smoothest and most fun events we have participated in thus far. The refs did a satisfactory/good job which is always one of the most crucial elements to a good tournament. We did relatively well in the prelims which is highly unusual for us. We went into the semi-finals in 5th place (top 8 teams advanced). Then we just lost focus/played poorly in the semis and lost all 3 games. We stayed at Air Assault to cheer on Whitewater and see them take 2nd place. Iowa State took 1st, and U of Minnesota took 3rd. Link to Full Score Sheet

MWN Event #2
Stinger Paintball - WI
For this event, we actually had a 6 man roster. So we came in feeling confident. Unforunately, we had not practiced extensively enough with every member of the team. And, we simply rotated players in and out every game, which apparently was not the best plan. We only won 2 out of 8 games in the Prelims. This was, obviously, not enough to advance us onto Semi-Finals. We were quite disappointed that we didn't maintain our drive from taking 2nd place at the last tournament. But we learned some lessons about roster management and the importance of full team practices. We took 22nd place out of 26 teams. On a sidenote, Mike Farnsworth became the first person ever to throw a challenge flag during a paintball game.

MWN Event #1
Xphere Paintball - MN
This was the first event of the NCPA season. It took place at Xphere Paintball in Fairibault, Minnesota. The field was surprisingly well maintained. They had bran new netting because of a recent wind storm. Some of the refs seemed to know what they were doing, while others had no clue what a 1for1 even was. But, the event still went smoothly and made for a great time. We barely squeaked by into the Semi-Finals. We were tied for 8th place (top 8 teams advanced) with U of Minnesota. Then, MTU dropped out because they had a long drive ahead of them that night. So a coin toss was held to determine which team would get 7th and which team would get 8th. We got 8th. We ended up in an easier bracket for the Semis. Advanced to Finals and won 2 of our 3 games which got us 2nd place. (1st-Platteville, 3rd-Whitewater, 4th-U of Minnesota)

DPO Invitational
The Siege Paintball - WI
This was our one event that we wanted to compete in over the summer. We took 3rd place. The preliminaries consisted of interdivisional play. We started out playing just decent. Then after a fantastic flag-dive by Erik Leable followed by a 4-man run through courtesy of Mike Farnsworth, we started winning every game. Once we reached the finals, we won 1 out of 3 games against Powerhouse. So we played against LSD for 3rd and 4th place. We beat them best 2 out of 3 and managed to take 3rd. We received medals and a small trophy.

Midwest North #5
Stinger Paintball - WI
Our very first NCPA event. Finished in 19th place out of 26 teams. We won 2 games out of 8 in the semi-finals. We originally had 6 players going to the event but one of our members failed to attend. We were satisfied with our performance considering it was the first time Trevar had played in a year, and we had never practiced with him up to that point. The event went very well: refs did a good job, the schedule was well organized, and it all made for a very good time.
